PE Pipes and Fittings

PE (Polyethylene)

PE, or Polyethylene, is a versatile engineering plastic offering excellent chemical resistance, impact strength, and durability. It is available in various grades—HDPE, LDPE, and UHMWPE—each suited for specific applications. PE operates in temperatures from -50°C to 80°C, making it a reliable choice for industrial and commercial uses.

Types of PE:

  • HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene): Known for high strength, stiffness, and excellent resistance to chemicals and UV. Common in piping, tanks, and outdoor applications.
  • LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene): Flexible with good impact resistance and transparency. Ideal for packaging, liners, and lightweight applications.
  • UHMWPE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene): Exceptional wear resistance, low friction, and high impact strength. Used in conveyor parts, liners, and heavy-duty applications.

Characteristics:

  • Outstanding chemical and moisture resistance
  • High impact strength and excellent toughness
  • Lightweight with good machinability
  • Low coefficient of friction
  • Operates in temperatures from -50°C to 80°C
  • FDA-compliant options for food and pharmaceutical use

Applications:

  • Chemical storage tanks and piping systems
  • Liners for chutes, hoppers, and silos
  • Gears, bearings, and wear strips (UHMWPE)
  • Food-grade cutting boards and processing equipment
  • Packaging films, bags, and liners (LDPE)
  • Outdoor furniture and playground equipment (HDPE)
